Helene Hegemann

Biography

Helene Hegemann was born in Freiburg in 1992 and now lives in Berlin. In 2008 her first film Torpedo was named discovery of the year and won the Max Ophüls Prize. 2010 marked her debut as a novelist with “Axolotl Roadkill“, which has since been translated into 20 languages. Her second novel “Jage zwei Tiger“ appeared in 2013, and in the same year she directed an experimental music theatre piece, Musik, at the Cologne Opera. She writes columns and essays for various magazines and newspapers.
