Road Beyond Sunset

Libanon, 2004, 53 min

Stories of death and destruction, stories of lost hope and lost lives, lost cities and souls, are the only stories we hear and learn about Iraq.

We go there haunted by black painted pictures, those made by the media all across our Arab world.

We never heard anyone saying: life goes on!

People adapt, they find their way instinctively.

That is what the film is looking for in a trip across Iraq.

It is a personal trip of four friends, going all the way down from the north towards Baghdad and to the south reaching the Arab gulf sands.

It is hope that keeps people going; it is hope that will keep the four friends going through all the surrounding demolished places.

A journey beyond the sunset …
