Spectres of Democracy

Part of "Marx' Gespenster"

  • Dialogue
English /  Moderator: Isabell Lorey / ca. 120min

Since the financial crisis activists and theorists have almost unanimously been speaking of new forms of ‘real’ or ‘genuine democracy’. Two of the central figures from Europe’s new left will discuss this topic: Croatian philosopher Srećko Horvat, founder of the Subversive Festival in Zagreb, will be in discussion with the feminist Benedictine nun Teresa Forcades i Vila, whom the British newspaper The Guardian has called one of the most outspoken and atypical voices of southern Europe’s left.

Presented in the context of House on Fire with support by the Cultural Programme of the European Union.
