adaptor:ex is a software for game theatre: it was developed by machina eX to combine elements of staging, the plot text and the theatre machinery. The graphical programming interface of the open source software is optimised to bring dramaturgy and game mechanics together and arrange them clearly. With adaptor:ex, quick adjustments can be made during rehearsals and the course of performances can be monitored and controlled. External software interfaces, microcontrollers, lighting and sound can be easily interconnected in adaptor:ex.

The workshop, led by machina-eX co-founder Philip Steimel, introduces theatre and art professionals who are keen to experiment to the open source software. It teaches the basics and offers participants support so that they can use the software for their own projects after the workshop. No previous technical experience is necessary.
