Can we still find inspiration in one another despite the growing divisions in society?A theatre collective pitches ideas to one another and to the audience for their next play, which explores the tension between the capital and the periphery.
At a time when individuals and groups are increasingly isolating themselves from the media and public debates quickly become polarised, Post Paradies – known for its humorous productions (“Die Hundekot-Attacke”, “Der Clowns-Kongress”, both to be seen at the HAU in 2025) – aims to take stock in this musical collage. The collective first met in the Thuringian countryside. Today, the theatre group from the “backlands” is cruising through Brandenburg by bus – in search of projections, common ground and radical hope. The final stop on their journey is HAU2.
What begins as a pitch gradually transforms into a theatre performance in which the pitched ideas develop a momentum of their own and take on a life of their own. As they travel through social bubbles, a sort of road trip emerges: the radio plays, the parched fields of Brandenburg roll by. Inspirations gathered along the way take on a life of their own and enter into an unconventional dialogue on stage:
Why is the villager afraid that her hedge will be destroyed? What happens at the opening ceremony of a new Edeka branch, and which political parties turn up there? Where does one feel safe?
