Very few artists manage to consolidate art, politics, and theory so productively and to create a discursive space for music so consistently as the media artist, musician, and transgender activist Terre Thaemlitz. With "Soulnessless", he has produced a monumental complex that proposes spirituality as a matrix of essentialist identity politics, at the same time formulating a sharp critique of the socio-economic conditions of the music industry.
