Biography

Ultraviolett can be considered as music specialist, arts allrounder and DJ, currently studying at Universität der Künste. Ultraviolett got first turntables in their early teenage days, since then Ultraviolett played quite versatile raves, music and art events throughout Europe. Berlin venues like about blank, Arena, Club der Visionaere, Bar25, Maria am Ostbahnhof, WMF, Watergate, Berghain Kantine, Festsaal or djing atmospheres at museums like the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin. As one of the co-founders of Hedonist International Ultraviolett curated the weekly live music and performance night Amuesemong at Bar25's fabulous Circus together with Joanna Gemma Auguri, now Roter Salon. Today music styles vary from ambient, drone, Detroit beatdown, hip-hop, and raw house to bouncy acidish techno and experimental bass music. On the label romantik/rmntk they write about music and produce events such as the Perspectives Festival. With Beth Pibernat, Vinilette, they run the ongoing curatorial project The Hum. The Hum is a geological low-frequency phenomenon. Vibrant, ongoing, resonance. The Hum as an artistic research investigates dimensions of a shared sound and dance experience through sound, dance, performance art and beyond.
