Invisible Playground & Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra

Fables For Drones

  • Performance
  • Music

Invisible Playground is a collective of six artists, designers and scholars who develop site-specific, transmedial games. The group has already been active at HAU Hebbel am Ufer, organising the festival “You Are GO!” in 2011. The architecture of HAU1 forms the foundation for their new collaborative work with the 18-person Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra from Berlin. What emerges is a fable by drones for drones: the swarm is us. Drones deliver packages and send live updates from Mars via Twitter. Hobbyists observe the neighbourhood. Intelligence agencies eliminate “danger” worldwide. “Fables for Drones” (after Stansław Lem’s “Fables for Robots”) sets up an experimental arrangement, combining Invisible Playground’s game principles taken from computer games, board games and role playing with media art and live concert.

With kind permission by Linguatec Sprachtechnologien, the texts of the drones were produced with the voices of Voice Reader Studio 15 Deutsch. With kind support of Klebeland – Qualität zum Abrollen.

Production: Invisible Playground. Co-production: HAU Hebbel am Ufer. Funded by Hauptstadtkulturfonds.
