“Dance Church” is an open dance session for everyone – no experience necessary. 60 minutes of dancing together to rousing music. Come along, dance, sweat, connect, and experience the liberating power of movement together!

“Dance Church” is an all-levels movement class taught by professional dance artists that offers a fun and inclusive approach to dancing. It’s designed for people of all shapes and sizes, backgrounds and identities, with the mission to bring the joy and release of dance to every body.

The teacher leads a 60-ish minute experience in a series of movement cues, accompanied by a curated playlist of multi-genre pop music. No prior dance experience necessary, but open mindedness is a prerequisite.

Founded in 2010 as a small Sunday movement practice in Seattle, Dance Church holds classes in 12 cities across the USA with over 50 teachers, and is now excited to collaborate with HAU for the first events in Berlin.

The course is led by Lavinia Vago, an Italian dance artist, performer, choreographer, educator, director, and mother based in Berlin. She has been teaching “Dance Church” for the last ten years.
